CARSTEN NICOLAI aka ALVA NOTO: HYbr:ID

Carsten Nicolai, also known as Alva Noto, the pseudonym he uses for his musical works, is both an artist and a musician. His research constantly moves between visual and sonic languages, exploring their physical qualities and expressive possibilities with the aim of going beyond the narrow boundaries of traditionally coded music.

As part of the exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, Alva Noto presents his composition series HYbr:ID and gives a foretaste of the third chapter, which has not yet been published. In addition to the musical element, the presentation also includes a series of drawings and graphics related to the HYbr:ID project, reflecting Nicolai's interest in developing a new system of musical notation.
